Meet Bagher Afshari Gharyaghdi, a compassionate advocate for mental health and refugee support with a diverse background and a commitment to evidence-based practices. Having contributed to aiding refugees in collaboration with the United Nations in Turkey, Bagher realized the profound impact of humanitarian work, laying the foundation for his career. Graduating in psychology with a focus on addiction, he recognized the importance of intervention and social support in the recovery process. Furthering his education, Bagher completed a Master's degree from Capella, gaining practical experience through an internship at Twin Lakes Counseling. Grounded in a belief in psycho-education and positive psychology, he strives to bring clarity to those experiencing challenges.

Bagher has found himself most helpful with trauma processing therapies and treating depression and anxiety.

As a strong proponent of evidence-based practices, Bagher places emphasis on research, particularly exploring the significance of a comprehensive cultural approach in promoting diversity within mental health considerations. Empathy plays a central role in Bagher's approach. He deeply connects with others' pain, believing in the effectiveness of evidence-based solutions while maintaining a humanistic understanding of various issues. Currently serving as a LMHCA ( MC61573505) in clinical counseling and mental health counseling, Bagher is supervised by Mandi Maycumber, LMHC, and is dedicated to refining his skills. Additionally, Bagher is a research assistant at Fielding Graduate University. A mission close to Bagher's heart is highlighting the importance of the bridge between clients and mental health professionals. Recognizing this as the main channel for transforming evidence-based treatments into meaningful solutions, he strives to contribute positively to the ongoing dialogue on mental health.

Bagher has received conditional acceptance to commence his Ph.D. studies in clinical psychology with a concentration in neuropsychology in fall 2024. This endeavor aims to enhance his understanding of psychophysiology, contributing to the holistic development of mental health solutions. Bagher embodies a fusion of academic knowledge, practical experience, and a compassionate approach, dedicated to making a lasting impact in the realms of mental health and humanitarian efforts
